Stars Whisper is a collection of three live songs from Northern Valentine, recorded in their hometown of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

Recorded shortly after the release of their 2008 album, The Distance Brings Us Closer, Stars Whisper continues the group’s development of indie ambient sounds and explorations of modern psychedelia. Blissed out guitars, keyboards used as percussion and long ringing bass notes join with samples stretched beyond their limits, disassembled wind instruments, electronic children’s toys, pellets, shells, and other electro-acoustic elements to make the sound of a sunken ship resurrected and propelled into space.

Recorded live at The Rotunda by Robert Brown, and at The Fire by Ed Warga, using portable field recorders with no overdubbing or post-production.
